As humans, there is seldom an emotion we don’t share the experience of– joy, sadness, fear, and shame alike. It is in our expression of these emotions that we find divergence.

Under patriarchy, many of us are taught to devalue our emotions and, as a result, have found ourselves in unconscious patterns of repression. It is understood that being unable to embody or communicate what we feel can lead to isolating and harmful circumstances. How do we begin to learn these skills and reconnect with our emotions as adults?
