Carl J. Capista

Mr. Capista’s has had a multi-faceted 40+ year career in the commercial satellite communications industry, where after graduating with a degree in electrical engineering he joined the industry in its infancy. His executive business experience ranges from project management, marketing, business development, new product development and sales. Mr. Capista’s experience includes projects throughout the United States, Europe, Latin and South America and Asia. Mr. Capista retired in 2017.

During a month-long trip to India in 2014, Mr. Capista became fascinated with South Asian craft practices. He began a program of self-education, reading extensively about South Asian art. He now enjoys collecting Mughal and Deccan artifacts including Bidriware as well as Jain sculptures and temple lamps. With his wife, Mr. Capista started collecting contemporary art 25 years ago. Within the last few years, their collection as focused on Near Eastern and South Asian women artists. Weather permitting, Mr. Capista enjoys his other passion fly fishing.
